Job search and career MCP servers connect AI agents to job boards, professional networks, resume tools, and interview platforms. Instead of manually searching Indeed, tailoring resumes for each application, or practicing interview questions alone, these servers let you search across platforms, analyze job descriptions, generate tailored materials, and simulate interviews through natural language via the Model Context Protocol.

This review covers LinkedIn integration, multi-platform job aggregation, resume and application tools, auto-apply automation, and interview preparation — the full job search workflow from discovery to offer. For HR and recruiting from the employer side, see our HR & Recruiting review.

The headline findings: stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server dominates the LinkedIn ecosystem at 3,100 stars with continuous releases (latest v4.22.0, Aug 11, 2026). Himalayas-App/himalayas-mcp is an official remote-jobs MCP with OAuth 2.1 and salary benchmarking — Jobicy has since shipped its own official server too, so Himalayas is no longer the only one. jinzcdev/leetcode-mcp-server (139 stars) closes the coding interview prep gap. Auto-apply ATS automation is emerging as a distinct sub-category, and Upwork itself has now launched an official MCP server for the freelance side of the market. Two previously-featured servers (Sakshee5/JobApply and ejb503/interview-roleplay) have been deleted.

Correction (2026-08-15 audit): the previous version of this page significantly undercounted stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server (listed as 1,700 stars, TypeScript, 5+ tools, no license) — it is currently 3,100 stars, Python, Apache-2.0 licensed, and exposes 18 tools. Several other servers in this review had similarly stale star counts and missing license/language data; all tables below have been re-verified against live GitHub data as of this audit.

LinkedIn Integration

stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server — LinkedIn Scraper for Profiles, Companies, and Jobs

Server Stars Language License Tools
linkedin-mcp-server 3,100 Python Apache-2.0 18

Full LinkedIn access via browser-based authentication:

  • Profile scraping — extract work history, education, skills, and contact info from any LinkedIn profile
  • Company data — company details, employee counts, and industry information
  • Job search — search LinkedIn jobs with keyword, location, and experience filters
  • Job details — full job descriptions and application requirements
  • Connection requestsconnect tool now functioning after April 2026 fix (DOM-anchor state detection, locale-independent)
  • Self-healing Chromium — Patchright validates browser readiness and handles stale binaries automatically

The dominant LinkedIn MCP server by a wide margin, at nearly 3x the stars of the next-closest competitor (adhikasp/mcp-linkedin, ~200+ stars). The project has shipped continuously — 22+ tagged releases through v4.22.0 (Aug 11, 2026) — signaling active maintainership. The April 2026 fixes addressed two long-standing pain points: the connect tool now works reliably, and Chromium self-heals rather than requiring manual intervention. Still relies on browser automation rather than official LinkedIn APIs — which means it could break at any time and may violate LinkedIn’s terms of service.

eliasbiondo/linkedin-mcp-server — Structured LinkedIn Data Extraction

Server Stars Language License Tools
linkedin-mcp-server 175 Python MIT 9

Search and scrape LinkedIn with structured JSON output:

  • Search people — find LinkedIn profiles by name, title, company, or keywords
  • Search companies — company lookup with structured data extraction
  • Search jobs — job listings with filters
  • Profile scraping — structured JSON output for downstream processing
  • Session management — cookie-based authentication with export/import

Focuses on returning clean, structured data rather than raw HTML — useful for feeding LinkedIn data into other tools or analysis workflows. Cookie-based session management added March 2026. No activity since mid-March.

Hritik003/linkedin-mcp — Automated Job Applications

Server Stars Language License Tools
linkedin-mcp 31 Python 3+

LinkedIn integration focused on job applications:

  • Profile retrieval — access your own LinkedIn profile data
  • Job search — discover relevant positions
  • Job application — submit applications through LinkedIn (Easy Apply)
  • Application tracking — monitor submitted applications

The most ambitious LinkedIn MCP server — it attempts to apply to jobs rather than just find them. Dormant since April 2025. The ethical concerns around automated applications remain: mass-automated applications affect the signal quality for employers and may violate LinkedIn’s ToS.

adhikasp/mcp-linkedin — LinkedIn Feeds and Job API

Server Stars Language License Tools
mcp-linkedin 206 Python 3+

Access LinkedIn feeds and job data:

  • Feed access — read your LinkedIn feed posts and updates
  • Job API — search and retrieve job listings
  • Profile interaction — view profiles and connections

A lighter-weight LinkedIn integration focused on feeds and jobs. Dormant since December 2024 — no updates for five months.

Rayyan9477/linkedin_mcp — Resume Generation and Application Tracking

Server Stars Language License Tools
linkedin_mcp 25 Python MIT 13

Full LinkedIn workflow with resume generation:

  • Job search — search and filter LinkedIn jobs
  • Profile management — view and manage your profile data
  • Resume generation — produce HTML, Markdown, or PDF (via WeasyPrint) from profile data
  • Application tracking — status workflow for managing applications
  • FastMCP — built with FastMCP for clean integration

13 tools covering a broader workflow than most LinkedIn servers — the in-built resume generation distinguishes it from pure scrapers.

GhoshSrinjoy/linkedin-job-mcp — Filtered Job Search with Geocoding

Server Stars Language License Tools
linkedin-job-mcp 1 JavaScript Apache-2.0 3+

LinkedIn job search with advanced filtering and geocoding:

  • Location filtering — dynamic geocoding converts city names to LinkedIn location IDs
  • Experience level — filter by entry, associate, mid-senior, director, executive
  • Salary filtering — minimum salary thresholds
  • Rate limiting — built-in request management to avoid LinkedIn blocks

Well-engineered but very low traction (1 star). The geocoding approach is a practical solution to LinkedIn’s location ID system.

Other LinkedIn Servers

  • superyuser/linkedin-scraper-mcp (5 stars) — comprehensive profile data extraction with manual credential input
  • zarif007/job-search-mcp (1 star) — job search MCP server with customizable parameters. Correction (2026-08-15 audit): previously listed under the repo slug zarif007/linkedin-job-search, which does not exist — the actual repository is zarif007/job-search-mcp, corrected above.

borgius/jobspy-mcp-server — Cross-Platform Job Aggregator

Server Stars Language License Tools
jobspy-mcp-server 104 JavaScript MIT 1

Search multiple job platforms simultaneously:

  • Indeed — keyword and location filters
  • LinkedIn — LinkedIn job search
  • Glassdoor — Glassdoor listings
  • ZipRecruiter — ZipRecruiter integration
  • Unified results — consistent format across all platforms

The most practical job search MCP server for actual job seekers. One query replaces four separate site visits. Built on the JobSpy library. Community forks continue to appear — VennieSo/jobspy-mcp-server adds Google Jobs, Bayt, and Naukri to the platform list.

Server Stars Language License Tools
job-searchoor 66 TypeScript MIT 1

Simple job search with time-range filtering:

  • Single get_jobs tool — keyword search with time-filter (e.g., “1d”, “1w”) and remote flag
  • Recency focus — designed for finding genuinely new listings rather than re-scraping old ones

Minimal interface that solves one specific problem: finding jobs posted recently rather than being overwhelmed by months-old listings. 66 stars for a single-tool server suggests the recency use case resonates.

Indeed Official MCP Server — Legitimate Indeed API Access

Server Stars Language License Tools
Indeed MCP 3+

Official Indeed integration for job search:

  • Job search — search Indeed jobs by title, keywords, location, and employment type
  • Company info — access company profiles and information
  • Structured results — titles, companies, locations, salaries, and application URLs
  • Official API — sanctioned access, not scraping

Indeed was one of the first major job platforms to ship an official MCP server, providing stable access without scraping risk. Tool count is modest compared to community scrapers, but reliability is the trade-off.

Himalayas-App/himalayas-mcp — Official Remote Jobs MCP

Server Stars Language License Tools
himalayas-mcp 19 MIT 27

Official MCP from Himalayas.app, a curated remote job marketplace:

  • Job search — search remote jobs with keyword, category, and location filters
  • Salary benchmarking — compensation data by role and location
  • Job posting — employers can post listings via MCP
  • Candidate search — find candidates in the Himalayas talent pool
  • Application tracking — track the status of submitted applications
  • OAuth 2.1 with PKCE — official auth, not scraping; compatible with Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf

An official MCP server from a remote-jobs marketplace, confirmed by the Himalayas-App GitHub org and Himalayas’s own MCP landing page. It closes one of the most-cited gaps in the job search MCP space — though it’s no longer alone: Jobicy also ships an official remote-jobs MCP server (2 stars, MIT, 2 tools), so “first” can’t be confirmed either way. Himalayas’s is the larger and more feature-rich of the two — 27 tools spanning public search, job-seeker actions, and employer actions, versus Jobicy’s 2 (get_jobs, get_taxonomies). Salary benchmarking and candidate search tools go beyond what scrapers or Jobicy’s server provide.

ChanMeng666/server-google-jobs — Google Jobs via SerpAPI

Server Stars Language License Tools
server-google-jobs 21 TypeScript MIT 1

Access Google Jobs search results via SerpAPI:

  • Multi-language support — EN, ZH, JA, KO
  • Employment type filters — full-time, part-time, contractor, intern
  • Salary and date filtering
  • npm package — available as @chanmeng666/google-jobs-server

Exposes Google’s aggregated job listings (which pull from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, company sites) via SerpAPI. Requires a SerpAPI key — costs apply above the free tier.

Server Stars Language License Tools
h1b-job-search-mcp 16 Python MIT 7

Find H-1B sponsoring employers from U.S. Department of Labor data:

  • Natural language interfaceask tool accepts freeform queries
  • DOL LCA data — filters employers who file Labor Condition Applications (H-1B prerequisite)
  • Hosted on Render — no local setup needed

Niche but highly specific — the only MCP server targeting international job seekers who need H-1B sponsorship. 7 tools covering the full employer lookup workflow.

Other Multi-Platform Servers

  • Ritesh-sudo/MCPJobSearch (1 star) — multi-platform search (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Monster) targeting entry-level AI/ML and Python roles

Correction (2026-08-15 audit): patiza604/indeed_mcp_server, previously listed here as “community Indeed integration,” no longer exists — the repository has been deleted or made private (the author’s GitHub profile shows no such repo). Removed above.

Resume & Application Tools

jsonresume/mcp — JSON Resume Ecosystem Integration

Server Stars Language License Tools
mcp 61 TypeScript Unlicense 3+

Connect AI agents to the JSON Resume open standard:

  • Codebase analysis — analyze a project and extract skills and experience from code
  • Resume updates — add work history, skills, or projects to your JSON Resume
  • GitHub Gist storage — resumes persist via the JSON Resume registry at registry.jsonresume.org

The JSON Resume standard has an active ecosystem. This MCP bridges AI assistants to that ecosystem — useful for developers who want their resume to reflect their actual GitHub activity rather than self-reported skills.

AndreaCadonna/resumake-mcp — LaTeX Resume PDF Generation

Server Stars Language License Tools
resumake-mcp 22 JavaScript MIT 4

Generate professional resume PDFs from natural language:

  • 9 LaTeX templates — professional layouts with ATS-friendly formatting
  • Folder management — organize multiple resume versions
  • Natural language input — describe your experience and the server formats it
  • PDF output — via Claude Desktop integration

Correction (2026-08-15 audit): this server is now archived and discontinued. Its own README states: “This MCP server is no longer maintained. Resumake and the hosted resume-rendering service used by this project have been discontinued.” The maintainer has migrated the working functionality to a maintained Claude skill, AndreaCadonna/skills (tailor-resume), which runs the LaTeX generators locally instead of depending on the discontinued hosted endpoint. The description above reflects what the MCP server did while it was live; use the skill repo for current functionality.

Previously filled the gap left by the deleted Sakshee5/JobApply server with a focus on PDF output quality rather than job matching. That gap is now open again for MCP-server users specifically (the functionality lives on as a skill, not an MCP server).

Auto-Apply Automation

MLS-Tech-Inc/shortlistjobs-mcp — ATS Auto-Apply Automation

Server Stars Language License Tools
shortlistjobs-mcp 34 TypeScript MIT 33

Automate job application submission across major ATS platforms:

  • ATS form scraping — reads application forms from Ashby, Lever, SmartRecruiters, and Workable
  • Bot-controlled submission — fills and submits applications via automation
  • 33 tools — covering job discovery, form parsing, and application submission
  • Greenhouse and Workday — listed as coming soon

33 tools covering the full auto-apply workflow represents a new category maturity. The ethical and platform-TOS concerns are real: automated bulk applications degrade hiring signal quality and most ATS platforms prohibit bot submission. That said, this server closes the gap between finding a job and applying — the last manual step in the AI job search workflow.

6figr-com/jobgpt-mcp-server — JobGPT Platform Integration

Server Stars Language License Tools
jobgpt-mcp-server 20 TypeScript MIT 34

Official MCP for the JobGPT/6figr.com job search platform:

  • H1B filter — filter jobs by H-1B sponsorship availability
  • Auto-apply — submit applications through the platform
  • Resume upload and tailoring — manage and customize resumes per job
  • Recruiter outreach — connect with relevant recruiters
  • Application tracking — full pipeline view
  • API key auth — credit-based system tied to a 6figr.com account

An official MCP tied to a dedicated job search platform with built-in application management. The H-1B filter alongside aryaminus/h1b-job-search-mcp shows growing demand for visa-aware job tools.

Interview Preparation

jinzcdev/leetcode-mcp-server — LeetCode Coding Interview Prep

Server Stars Language License Tools
leetcode-mcp-server 139 TypeScript MIT 18

Full LeetCode integration for coding interview preparation:

  • Daily challenge — retrieve the current daily LeetCode problem
  • Problem search — search by title, difficulty, tags, or company
  • Code execution — run solution code against test cases
  • Submission — submit solutions directly from AI assistant
  • User notes — access personal notes on problems
  • Community solutions — retrieve community-submitted solutions
  • Supports both leetcode.com and leetcode.cn — internationalized
  • Authentication optional — public problems accessible without login

At 139 stars, jinzcdev/leetcode-mcp-server is the clear leader in coding interview prep. Closes the last major gap in this category — AI-assisted LeetCode practice was previously unavailable through MCP. The ability to execute and submit code through a single MCP interface makes interview prep significantly more integrated.

HelloGGX/interview-mcp-server — AI Interview Assistant

Server Stars Language License Tools
interview-mcp-server 9 TypeScript 3+

Automated interview preparation and evaluation:

  • Resume analysis — extract likely interview questions based on your resume and target role
  • Recording evaluation — analyze interview recordings for content and delivery
  • Comprehensive feedback — evaluate completeness, relevance, and communication

Goes beyond static question banks — generates questions personalized to your resume and role, then evaluates your actual responses. Dormant since January 2025 (9 stars).

InterviewReady/mcp-server — Interview Study Resources

Server Stars Language License Tools
mcp-server 126 TypeScript MIT 3+

Access InterviewReady course materials and resources:

  • Blog content — technical interview articles and guides
  • Course resources — system design and coding interview materials
  • Note-taking — add notes to your personal study pad
  • Reminders — Google reminders for upcoming classes

Integrates with the InterviewReady platform rather than being standalone. Most useful if you’re already a subscriber.

MichaelJGKopp/MCP-CRUD-Interview-Question — Interview Question Bank

Server Stars Language License Tools
MCP-CRUD-Interview-Question 0 Java 4+

Manage a personal interview question database:

  • CRUD operations — create, read, update, delete interview questions
  • Spring AI integration — built with Spring AI 1.0 and JPA
  • STDIO communication — integrates with Claude Desktop
  • Categorization — organize by topic, difficulty, and type

A self-hosted question bank rather than an AI interviewer. Useful for maintaining a personal collection of questions encountered in interviews.

Freelance & Gig Work

vanooo/upwork-mcp — Community Upwork Browser Automation

Server Stars Language License Tools
upwork-mcp 55 Python Apache-2.0 18

Automate Upwork workflows via Chrome DevTools Protocol:

  • Job search — browse and filter job listings
  • Proposals — draft and submit proposals
  • Inbox — read and respond to client messages
  • Contracts — view active contract details

Correction (2026-08-15 audit): Upwork itself has since launched an official MCP server (announced Aug 10, 2026), so vanooo/upwork-mcp is no longer “the first” or only MCP server for Upwork, and community browser-automation servers like this one are now a fallback rather than the only option — the official server lets an agent find talent, post jobs, submit proposals, review offers, and manage contracts directly through Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, without scraping. Community-built servers like vanooo/upwork-mcp still use browser automation (not an official API), so stability and ToS compliance remain the usual caveats — but job seekers should prefer the official Upwork MCP where it covers their use case.

gmen1057/headhunter-mcp-server — HeadHunter/hh.ru Integration

Server Stars Language License Tools
headhunter-mcp-server 24 Python MIT 10

HeadHunter (hh.ru) — leading job platform in Russia and CIS:

  • Vacancy search — search and filter job listings
  • Apply — submit applications
  • Negotiations — manage recruiter conversations
  • OAuth auth — uses official hh.ru API

10 tools covering the full hh.ru workflow. Official API integration makes it more reliable than scraper-based servers. Niche but valuable for CIS-market job seekers.

What’s Missing

The job search MCP space has closed several gaps since the original review but significant holes remain:

  • Glassdoor salary data — still no server provides salary ranges, company reviews, or interview experiences from Glassdoor’s database
  • AngelList / Wellfound — still no startup-focused job board integration
  • LinkedIn official API — all LinkedIn servers still rely on scraping; no official LinkedIn MCP exists
  • Salary negotiation — no tools for offer comparison or negotiation guidance
  • Portfolio builders — no servers for creating or managing professional portfolios
  • Networking tools — no referral tracking, event discovery, or warm introduction tools
  • Career path planning — no tools that analyze career trajectories or suggest development paths
  • Fiverr / Toptal — no other freelance marketplace integration beyond Upwork
  • Background check — no pre-employment screening tools
  • Government jobs — no USAJOBS or public sector integration
  • Academic positions — no HigherEdJobs or Academic Transfer integration

Gaps now closed (since March 2026):

  • LeetCode/coding challenges — jinzcdev/leetcode-mcp-server (139 stars)
  • Remote job boardsHimalayas-App/himalayas-mcp and Jobicy/remote-jobs-mcp-server, both official
  • Freelance platformsUpwork’s own official MCP server launched Aug 2026, alongside community options like vanooo/upwork-mcp
  • Resume PDF generation — reopened: resumake-mcp is discontinued (see correction above); its LaTeX/PDF functionality lives on only as a Claude skill, not an MCP server

Bottom Line

The job search and career MCP server category has matured significantly since March 2026. stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server at 3,100 stars is now the clear category leader — continuous releases (v4.22.0 as of Aug 11, 2026), a working connect tool, and self-healing Chromium automation place it far ahead of alternatives. The LinkedIn scraping concerns haven’t gone away, but the engineering quality has improved substantially.

Himalayas-App/himalayas-mcp is the most meaningful addition — an official remote-jobs MCP with OAuth 2.1 and salary benchmarking. It joins Indeed’s official server and Jobicy’s smaller official server as proof that legitimate platform partnerships can work in this space.

jinzcdev/leetcode-mcp-server (139 stars) closes the coding interview prep gap — AI-assisted LeetCode practice with code execution and submission through a single interface is the kind of workflow integration that makes MCP genuinely useful beyond novelty.

The deletion of Sakshee5/JobApply and ejb503/interview-roleplay is worth noting — two well-regarded servers are simply gone, underscoring the fragility of a community-built ecosystem. jsonresume/mcp partly fills the resume-tooling gap; resumake-mcp, which also filled it, is now itself discontinued (see correction above) — a second reminder of the same fragility.

Auto-apply automation is the emerging controversy — shortlistjobs-mcp (34 stars, 33 tools) and jobgpt-mcp-server (20 stars, 34 tools) show the technical capability is here. The ethical and ToS questions around bulk automated applications will likely come to a head as adoption grows.

The freelance side got its biggest update of this audit: Upwork itself launched an official MCP server in August 2026, moving that sub-category from “community scraper only” to “official platform + community fallback,” the same pattern seen in remote jobs (Himalayas, Jobicy) and general search (Indeed).

Rating: 4/5 — upgraded from 3.5/5. Official platform growth (Himalayas, Jobicy, Indeed, and now Upwork), the LeetCode gap closed, and stickerdaniel’s clear ecosystem leadership push this above the previous threshold. The resume-tooling churn (resumake-mcp’s discontinuation) and the LinkedIn scraping dependency, plus missing Glassdoor/AngelList integrations, keep it from 4.5.
