AGIBOT (AGIBOT Innovation, Shanghai) used WAIC 2026 to unveil four products across the humanoid and industrial robot spectrum. The hardware is technically credible. The company’s legal obligations are fixed and non-negotiable. Both facts are relevant to any builder evaluating the Chinese humanoid market.
The Four Products
AGIBOT’s official WAIC product page and Gasgoo’s preview confirm the following specifications.
A3 Ultra — Full-Size Humanoid for Commercial and Service Environments

WAIC 2026 organizers designated the A3 Ultra a “Gem of the Exhibition” — the only embodied AI product among the ten items selected for that designation. AGIBOT is also deploying over 60 robots across four venues at WAIC’s three exhibition locations for live guided tours, unmanned retail, interactive experiences, and entertainment — a real-world stress test of the A3 Ultra’s commercial-environment claim.
X2 Edu — Humanoid Development Platform
- Height: ~1.3 m

- Architecture: Fully modular and reconfigurable; open motion-control interfaces for secondary development
The X2 Edu is explicitly positioned to build AGIBOT’s ecosystem inside universities, research labs, and robotics competitions — the same market Unitree’s B1 and GO-series have owned at the low end. Open interfaces and a developer-first design make this the obvious choice if you want a Chinese humanoid for prototyping without committing to A3 Ultra pricing.
G2 Max — Heavy-Payload Industrial Task Robot
A wheeled, force-controlled platform designed for material handling and palletizing in warehouse and manufacturing environments. Omnidirectional mobility, autonomous charging, and integration hooks for existing production equipment are the key features. Specifications for payload and speed were not publicly released at WAIC.
OmniHand 3 Ultra-M — Direct-Drive Dexterous Hand
- Degrees of freedom: 20 active
- Weight: 630 g
- Whole-hand gripping load: Up to 5 kg
- Open/close time: 0.3 seconds typical
- Repeatability: ±0.2 mm
- Sensing: Vision-based tactile sensors at fingertips + 3D tactile perception array in palm
- Architecture: Fully direct-drive (no tendons, no gear backlash — critical for force regulation)
The OmniHand 3 Ultra-M ships as a standalone end-effector, which means it can be evaluated and integrated independently of AGIBOT’s humanoid platform. At 630 g and ±0.2 mm repeatability, it’s in the range of serious industrial dexterous manipulation tasks.
Market Position: This Is Not a Startup

- International sales already exceed 30% of annual revenue, with Southeast Asia (particularly Malaysia), Thailand, and South Korea as primary targets
The scale context matters. China produced more than 40,000 humanoid robot units in the first half of 2026 alone — a market on track to exceed 100,000 units for the full year. At 39% share, AGIBOT is the single largest supplier to that market. For reference, worldwide industrial robot installations across all industries and brands totaled roughly 542,000 units in 2024, per the IFR’s World Robotics 2025 report. China’s humanoid segment alone — a single robot category, in a single country — is on pace to exceed 100,000 units this year, roughly a fifth of the entire global industrial robot installation base.
AGIBOT co-founder Peng Zhihui told Global Times at WAIC that “only China and the US currently have the full combination of capabilities needed to compete in embodied AI” — strong AI “brain” models, robot-body development, and large-scale manufacturing — citing China’s advantages in “manufacturing, engineering talent density and application scenarios,” while acknowledging the US still leads in large-scale foundation models and compute.
The Legal Constraint: Article 7 of China’s National Intelligence Law
This is the section that changes the risk calculus.
Article 7 of China’s National Intelligence Law (2017, amended 2018) states: “All organizations and citizens shall support, assist, and cooperate with national intelligence efforts in accordance with law, and shall protect national intelligence work secrets they are aware of.” TechTimes’ July 18 report on AGIBOT summarizes this as requiring every Chinese company and citizen to support, assist, and cooperate with state intelligence work. Three things are true simultaneously:
The obligation is structural, not optional. No privacy policy, offshore subsidiary, or contractual promise can override Article 7. The law applies regardless of where the company’s servers are located or which country the unit was sold in.
Technical mitigations reduce the attack surface but not the legal condition. Network-isolating a humanoid robot (no cloud connectivity, Bluetooth disabled, data stays on-prem) reduces the practical mechanism for intelligence cooperation. It does not change the legal obligation AGIBOT has under Chinese law. These are different things.
The obligation is the same across all major Chinese manufacturers. AGIBOT, Unitree, UBTech, and every other PRC-incorporated robotics company operate under the same framework. If you’ve already decided this risk is acceptable for one Chinese supplier, you’ve already made the policy decision for all of them.
Builder Decision Framework
Deploy without restrictions if: The environment is non-sensitive (consumer entertainment, education, retail), no proprietary data or trade secrets pass through the robot’s sensors, and you can document the risk assessment for legal and compliance review.
Deploy with mitigations if: The environment has moderate sensitivity (logistics, light manufacturing). In this case: air-gap the robot from your corporate network, disable all cloud sync and remote access, ensure data generated by onboard sensors does not flow to AGIBOT’s servers. Document the gap explicitly in your security posture.
Do not deploy if: The deployment environment involves government networks, defense-adjacent work, pharmaceutical R&D, semiconductor IP, or any environment where a foreign government demand for data cooperation would be materially damaging. In this case, the legal condition is not manageable by technical means.
The X2 Edu and OmniHand 3 Ultra-M are lower-risk entry points — a development platform and a standalone end-effector carry substantially less operational sensor exposure than a full-environment-aware humanoid like the A3 Ultra.
What’s Next
WAIC 2026 ran July 17–20 in Shanghai. AGIBOT’s A3 Ultra was one of ten products named a WAIC 2026 “Gem of the Exhibition” — the only embodied-AI product to receive that designation this year. (Note: an earlier version of this piece speculated the A3 Ultra was a contender for WAIC’s separate SAIL Award; no source ties the two together, so that claim has been removed.)
For builders tracking the Chinese humanoid supply chain: the 15,000-unit production milestone, the 39% market share, and the live WAIC deployment across four venues all suggest AGIBOT is operating at a scale that makes it a realistic procurement option for large enterprises — subject to the legal and geopolitical risk assessment above.
