Review third-party dependencies. The Glasswing findings have concentrated heavily in open-source libraries: wolfSSL, OpenSSL, NGINX, FreeBSD components. Many of these run inside banking infrastructure via third-party vendors who may not yet have patched.

Update incident response playbooks. Assume attack chains that previously required multi-stage human expertise can now be assembled in seconds. Response times must compress accordingly.

Prepare for EU access negotiations. Based on the Japan precedent, bilateral frameworks can unlock restricted AI access. European financial associations and the ECB itself appear to be moving toward a formal access request. Banks should be prepared to participate in a controlled EU Glasswing equivalent if one is offered.


The Bigger Picture
